CHATA PRI ZELENOM PLESE

(‘KHA-ta pree ZEL-en-ohm PLEH-seh’)

Once known briefly under the name of Brncal, after a mountain-climber who perished nearby, this sits in the valley of the tarn Zelene pleso, under the Jastrabia (‘Hawk’) tower. Built in 1924, it is popular with both mountain-climbers and with less-demanding hikers. The chalet makes a good stop-over on the ascent of the peak Jahnaci stit, or goal of a hike via the main trail from Biela Voda or Velka Svistovka. It is open year round.
