Mountaineering
On the southern cliff of the Velicka wall of the Velicka valley Mountaineering is permitted only for those with certification from national mountaineering organisations. Mountaineering is then possible everywhere in the High Tatras, with the exception of the area roughly bounded by the following: The Javorinska Siroka mountain to Zabi vrch, Javorovy vrch, the Rovienky and Svistova valleys, the mouth of the Bielovodská valley and the Mlynar mountain including the Zaba valley. The southern border of this area is described by the line from the Velky Zabi peak, the tarn Ceské pleso, the Hviezdoslav waterfall, the tarn Litvorové pleso and Prielom. The Tatra Mountain Rescue service requires that all climbers respect internationally - recognized rules regarding safety, conservation and sportsmanship.
