A letter from our satisfied visitors:

" It had been a romantic dream to both of us to some day buy boots and go hiking in some unknown mountains. This year it became possible to go for the dream. Friends and colleagues had many suggestions as to what mountains to chooze, and when possible we checked the suggestions on the Internet. The home page of the Tatry Mountains promised unspoiled nature and trails in the woods and above. We got the impression that the attractions of this region would be different from the more industrialized part of international tourism. They were! We spent ten days on the trails that offered an excellent choice of variation, each day new excitements, I never saw so many wild flowers in my life. In addition the atmosphere of the settlements in the foothills of the Tatrys was exceptional. We lived in Pension Belin, a beautiful big building from the turn of the century, originally the summer home of a Hungarian count, but bought to become a Kur-Pension by the grandfather of the present owner, nationalized in 1949, during communist rule used for housing of employees of the government-run tourism of the area, but following the "Velvet Revolution" in 1989 given back to the family, i.e. the present owner mr.Belin. He and his wife are working still on the restoration of the house and the gardens, and they are doing a very skillful and graceful job."

"It became clear to us that the story of Pension Belin was typical for a large number of the marvelous Victorian- and Jugend-houses of the settlements of the High Tatry Mountains, all founded around 1900. For a century the area has been recreational with no industry and no farming. New constructions are far too few to ruin the atmosphere of "Fin de Siecle" . We hope to be back soon,- possibly skiing,- obviously the area is great for skiing, and going skiing in some unknown mountains would be another dream come true."

"Meanwhile we suggest that it is made clear in the home-page of the High-Tatry-Mountains that prices of this region is 1/2 to 1/3 of prices in Western Europe and the United States."
